The incumbent serves under the administrative direction of the Senior Counsel and Specialist, Legal Programs and Initiatives.  The incumbent serves the United States Congress by providing objective, expert legal analysis and consultation, with a focus on constitutional and related aspects of American public law, to Members of Congress, congressional committees, congressional staff, CRS, and other LC clients. These duties and responsibilities include preparing objective, non-partisan, and innovative analysis of the legal aspects of issues of national or international significance; providing personal assistance as a national expert on legal issues throughout the legislative process, including analyzing, appraising, and evaluating legislative proposals; planning and leading multidisciplinary team research projects and seminars; and preparing the Constitution of the United States of America, Analysis and Interpretation (Constitution Annotated) and related materials, programs, and initiatives.
