This position serves as the Chief, Collections Digitization Division, located in the Collections Digitization Division (CDD), Digital Services Directorate (DSD), Discovery and Preservations Services (DPS) within the Library Collections and Services Group (LCSG) and reports to the Director of the Digital Services Directorate.  Specific duties include serving as the Library's authority for digital conversion practices to be followed by Library staff and contractors, coordinating the Still Image Working Group of the Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative (www.digitizationguidelines.gov), ensuring that conversion policies and practices are consistent across the Library and are compatible with emerging standards in the national and international communities, providing authoritative guidance in the formulation of best practices for the life cycle management of converted materials and the resolution of complex problems or issues related to conversion of analog Library materials, promoting exploration of promising approaches to the conversion of analog materials and the management of the resulting digital objects, and coordinating with stakeholders within and outside of the Library of Congress to ensure the timely and successful execution of projects.
