This position is located in the Library Events Office (LEO), and is primarily responsible for supporting the planning and execution of special events and public programs held by the Library of Congress. The position provides operational event support for official functions, including, but not limited to, ceremonies, exhibition openings, seminars, conferences, performances, receptions, breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The events may also include congressionally-sponsored events; and events hosted by approved outside organizations in the Library's spaces. The Event Operations Specialist works under the general supervision of the Event Operations Manager who provides policy guidance and direction appropriate to the work assigned. The incumbent operates with varying degrees of independence in decision and action in relationship to the support requirements associated with special events.
