The Office of Communications (OC), Office of Communications and External Relations, Office of the Librarian, of the Library of Congress (Library), ensures that the image of, and information about, the Library is accurate and reflects the mission of the organization. It fosters and increases public awareness of the Library, defines and targets audiences for its public-affairs programs and assesses the effectiveness of those programs. Under the supervision of the Chief of Media Relations, the Public Affairs Specialist will assist with media relations, communications, logistical and administrative support necessary to promote Library programs, training, and events to the public through media and social media channels.
