Dr. Bénédicte Miyamoto will discuss her research which focuses on re-evaluating the didactic function of the 18th century English drawing manuals to highlight their links to a tightly -knit artisanal community. Her talk will address her current corpus of documents, including copy-books as well as design, geometry and perspective lessons to be found across various genres, from military manuals to gardening handbooks.
