Led by Young Reader's Center volunteers and staff, the Story Time will focus on books such as My Pen by Christopher Myers, I Have an Idea! by Herve Tullet, The Dot by Peter Reynolds, and Niko Draws a Feeling by Bob Raczka, all of which center on kids taking their ideas and making them into creative works. A puppet show will feature characters working together to create something, debating on who owns the work (children will interactively take sides), and then resolving the conflict through joint ownership and sharing. Songs will be on the themes of writing, drawing, and making ideas into creative products.
This event is great for families with children from 5 to 10 years old.
This event is an adjunct to the Copyright Matters lecture that will be held April 25, the Copyright Office’s official recognition of World Intellectual Property Day.
