Sponsored by the American Folklife Center, this webinar serves as the culmination of a six-week series focused on a selection of foodways traditions in West Virginia.

The culminating, online discussion brings together AFC staff, the West Virginia state folklorist, Emily Hilliard, featured cooks and tradition bearers, Jonathan Hall, Marlyn McClendon and Mehmet Öztan, as well as the videos’ producers, Amy Dawson and Mike Costello, who run Lost Creek Farm (Lost Creek, WV). Costello also co-hosts the popular podcast, The Pickle Shelf Radio Hour, serves on the Board of Directors for the Appalachian Food Summit, and is involved in food and small farm policy initiatives with the West Virginia Food and Farm Coalition. Dawson was also a participant in the 2018 West Virginia Folklife Apprenticeship Program.

Individuals requiring accommodations for events are requested to submit a request at least five business days in advance by contacting (202) 707-6362 or ADA@loc.gov.
