Roderick Williams, baritone
Masaaki Suzuki, conductor and harpsichord

Join us for a special performance by Masaaki Suzuki. Suzuki leads an ensemble of 11 stellar musicians from the illustrious Bach Collegium Japan, joined by British baritone Roderick Williams, a distinguished figure on opera and concert stages worldwide.

At the forefront of the world’s early music ensembles, the Collegium is admired for its superb artistry and “unmatched excellence” (
Gramophone) in the music of J.S. Bach and his contemporaries. Suzuki is both harpsichordist and conductor in this thoughtfully chosen program of Bach, Telemann and a slightly younger compatriot, the "stile galant" composer Johann Gottlieb Janitsch. Williams is featured in two solo cantatas, including the transcendent “Ich habe genug.”

There will be no preconcert talk for this event.
