As a bonus matinee concert, the Takt Trio will perform the Brahms horn trio alongside the classic 20th-century work it inspired: Ligeti’s horn trio, itself an homage à Brahms. The Library of Congress holds the holograph manuscript of Brahms’ trio in its collection, and it is a special treat to hear these works back-to-back, as they are oft-heralded as the representative works for this ensemble in their century of composition.
This concert was made possible with the generous support of the Irving and Verna Fine Fund in the Library of Congress.
NOTE: Due to ongoing repairs in the Library's Coolidge Auditorium, events scheduled for that venue may need to be rescheduled for other locations. For the latest updates, you may register for the event in advance, return to this page, or subscribe to the Library's Upcoming Events email feed.
