To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of György Ligeti (in 2023, when this concert was originally scheduled), the Takt Trio is bringing his exciting and beautiful horn trio on tour with a few new friends. We will hear Marcos Balter’s chamber piece for horn trio, co-commissioned by the Irving and Verna Fine Fund in the Library of Congress, as well as a new work for the ensemble by Hilda Paredes, commissioned by the Koussevitzky Foundation in the Library of Congress. Since the establishment of the horn trio as a powerful chamber ensemble in its own right by the contribution of Johannes Brahms in 1865, its repertoire continues to grow and be refreshed by the efforts of groups like the Takt Trio.

This concert was made possible with the generous support of the Verna and Irving Fine Endowment in the Library of Congress.

Pre-concert Conversation with the Artists: 6:30 pm, Whittall Pavilion.

This concert was rescheduled from the 2022/23 season, due to repairs of the Coolidge Auditorium. Tickets from the previous date will not be honored. All interested in attending must register for the new date.
