As part of an all-day festival, visiting families are invited to join us for participatory activities complementing the Library’s new Treasures Gallery. Activities will be held on Saturday, June 15, on the second floor of the Jefferson Building from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There will also be “Treasures of American Communities” performances and demonstrations all day in the Great Hall.

Programming Schedule: 

10:30 – 3:30 Drop in for exhibition-themed activities (2nd floor).

10:30 – 11:30 Family folk music sing-along with musician Natalie Merchant (see ticketing information below)

11:30 – 12:15 Double Dutch demonstration with D.C. Retro Jumpers

12:20 – 1:15 Indoor square dance

1:20 – 2:00 Demonstration by Black Girls Hand Games Project

2:10 – 3:00 Body percussion and clogging performance.

3:00 – 4:00 Square dance in the Great Hall

The event is free, but tickets are required for the Jefferson Building. Register for free timed-entry tickets.
