Journey from the frontier to the sea with Amanda Bellows and Hampton Sides as they uncover startling details of explorers confronting the unknown. By profiling 10 explorers’ lives, Bellows’ “The Explorers” revises our understanding of who gets to be called an “explorer.” Sides’ “The Wide Wide Sea” dives into Captain James Cook’s final voyage and its impact on Indigenous people. Moderator: Frederick F. Wherry.
