In “A Confident Cook,” journalist, novelist and talk show host Tamron Hall and her co-author Lish Steiling invite beginners and those who are curious about cooking into the kitchen. Baked French toast with sparkling berries, crispy fried chicken and chai-spiced pudding are a few of the recipes they teach in the book. They appear in conversation with Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden.
