Stories about animals can be found throughout Library of Congress collections. From quirky presidential pets to literate horses to activists who hit the streets to advocate for animal rights, this small, curated display offers a small cross-section of the Library’s animal stories. It also highlights some of the connections between the rights of animals and other social movements, from suffrage to civil rights.
Visitors to the Thomas Jefferson Building during its regular visitor hours must reserve free timed-entry passes.
