Also known as Jerrilyn Patton, Jlin has emerged as an influential contemporary electronic composer whose work transcends musical styles and artistic disciplines. A math enthusiast and a former steelworker from Gary, Indiana, Jlin has composed for chamber ensembles such as Kronos Quartet, Third Coast Percussion; created mixes for Björk and collaborated with choreographer Wayne McGregor, among others. In this opportunity, Jlin brings her signature electronic dance party energy to the Library of Congress, where she will present the world premiere of the first electronic music piece commissioned by the Library. The standing-room-only performance will be hosted in the Great Hall, showcasing the iconic architecture of the setting.
There will be no pre-concert conversation for this event.
