(Jan. 15, 2014) On January 6, 2014, the Egyptian President issued Law 8-2014, governing the constitutional referendum process for 2014. According to the newly enacted legislation, Egyptians will not be restricted by residential address when they cast their votes in the constitutional referendum. Egyptians who live in Cairo, for example, can vote at any polling site located in the Republic, without limiting themselves to the polling sites closest to the residential address as written on their identification cards.
