Summary
- Irving Fine (1914-1962) was an American composer. In 1949, he was commissioned by the Koussevitzky Music Foundation in the Library of Congress for the composition String Quartet. The Music Division received a holograph score and parts in 1952 (https://lccn.loc.gov/m56000892). In 1962, he was commissioned by the Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge Foundation in the Library of Congress for the composition Romanza for wind quintet. The Music Division holds a holograph score (https://lccn.loc.gov/63051775) and holograph sketches (https://lccn.loc.gov/66092154). The Music Division is the repository for the Irving Fine collection (http://hdl.loc.gov/loc.music/eadmus.mu001001).
