- Steven Mackey (b. 1956) is an American composer. In 1986, he was commissioned by the Koussevitzky Music Foundation in the Library of Congress for the composition Moebius Band for soprano and orchestra; the Music Division received the holograph score (https://lccn.loc.gov/88751165) and sketches (https://lccn.loc.gov/88751166) in 1988. In 1996, he was commissioned by the McKim Fund in the Library of Congress for the composition Sonata for violin and piano. In 1999, he was commissioned by the Koussevitzky Foundation was for the composition Ars Moriendi: Nine Tableaux on the Art of Dying Well for string quartet. The Music Division received a manuscript score and holograph sketches in 2000 (https://lccn.loc.gov/00728412).
