- Summary
- It's wash day. Mabel works hard while her husband sleeps in. Next door, Fatty also works hard, while his wife bosses him about as she dresses to go out. Finishing the washing in their adjacent yards, Fatty offers to let Mabel use his wringer. Her skirt accidently becomes caught just as her husband comes out of the house. He becomes jealous. Fatty's wife she hears the commotion, and enters the fray. Later that day, both couples are reconciled and separately stroll to the park. Fatty's wife falls asleep on a bench. Mabel has another argument with her husband and stalks off, leaving her purse behind. She runs into Fatty, who persuades her to come with him to an outdoor cafe. When they realize that neither has any money, Fatty returns to the bench and takes his sleeping wife's purse. Later, she wakes up and sees Mabel's husband walk by with Mabel's purse. Thinking it is hers, she gives chase, with two cops also in pursuit. They all come upon Fatty and Mabel in the cafe, the spouses again become jealous, and another fight ensues. Eventually the couples reluctantly reconcile yet again, and everyone goes home.
