  • -  Antón Gómez, a secular clergyman, was asked by the bishop of Mexico to take vestments, books of chants, and other items to Mexico for the service of the cathedral. He has requested permission to take them in without paying import duty. The King commands that the privilege be granted in New Spain and in any intervening ports, but if he should sell or trade the goods, the officials are to collect the complete duty.
