Angela Jackson was born in Greenville, Mississippi, in 1951. A poet, novelist, and playwright, she is the author of five poetry collections, including The Beatitudes of the Spinners (1993) and And All These Roads Be Luminous: Poems Selected and New (1998). Her honors include the Carl Sandburg Award, the Academy of American Poets Award, and the Poetry Society of America’s Shelley Memorial Award. Jackson lives in Chicago.
