Oleg Chukhontsev was born in Pavlovsky Posad, Russia, in 1938. He is the author of several poetry collections, including From Three Notebooks (1976), The Dormer Window (1985), and the unpublished manuscripts The Intention (1960) and The Name. His honors include the State Prize of the Russian Federation and the Pushkin Prize. He lives in Moscow.
