Biography

Carmen Agra Deedy, children’s book author and storyteller, was born in Havana and emigrated from Cuba to the United States with her family in 1963. She has won numerous awards for her work. Her latest book, “Martina, the Beautiful Cockroach: A Cuban Folktale” (Peachtree, 2007), is being released in English and Spanish. Deedy will appear in the Children’s Pavilion.
