April 23, 2003 Jefferson Building Restrictions May 6

On Tuesday, May 6, 2003, the Great Hall, exhibition areas and the Main Reading Room of the Thomas Jefferson Building will be closed.

While all public tours in the building will be cancelled that day, other Jefferson Building reading rooms will be open. Researchers will need to enter either the Madison or Adams building in order to gain access to the Asian, African and Middle Eastern, European, Hispanic, and Local History and Genealogy Reading Rooms. The Local History and Genealogy Reading Room will serve as the Main Reading Room for the day.

Normal operations will resume on Wednesday, May 7. We regret any inconvenience that this may cause readers and staff.
