April 22, 2004 Friends Society of the Asian Division to Hold First Annual Meeting on May 1

WHEN: 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 1

WHERE: Asian Division Reading Room, LJ-150, Thomas Jefferson Building,

101 Independence Ave S.E., Washington, D.C.

WHAT: The event will feature a progress report on the goals and activities of the Asian Division's Friends' Society by Division chief Hwa-Wei Lee. Allen Thrasher, coordinator of the South Asia Area Team, will deliver a lecture titled "Jewels of the South Asian Collection" about collections pertaining to India. This will be followed by Indian dancing and refreshments.

The event is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required.
