Gallup Organization executives Kenneth A. Tucker and Vandana Allman will discuss their new book, "ANIMALS, INC.: A Business Parable for the 21st Century" (Warner, 2004), at the Library of Congress at noon on Monday, June 14, in the sixth floor West Dining Room of the Library's Madison Building, 101 Independence Ave. S.E., Washington, D.C.
The presentation is part of the Center for the Book's "Books & Beyond" author series, which has brought authors of new books to the Library of Congress for presentations and book signings since 1996. The program is free and open to the public. A book signing will follow the talk.
"ANIMALS, INC." introduces readers to a group of unforgettable barnyard animals trying to run a successful business. The book brings to life, through the use of parable, the major lessons of the research behind two previous Gallup Organization business books by Marcus Buckingham: "First, Break All the Rules: What the World's Great Managers Do Differently" (Simon & Schuster, 1999) and "Now, Discover Your Strengths" (Free Press, 2001). Both books were on The New York Times bestseller list.
Kenneth A. Tucker is a seminar leader and managing consultant with the Gallup organization. He consults with the world's leading organizations on how to develop strategies for improving performance. Vandana Allman is the Gallup Organization's global practice leader for talent-based hiring. She consults with Fortune 500 companies on how to build more successful companies by improving their hiring and development strategies.
The Center for the Book, established in 1977 as a public-private partnership, uses the resources of the Library of Congress to stimulate public interest in books and reading. For information about its projects and publications and the activities of its affiliates in 50 states and the District of Columbia, consult its Web site at www.loc.gov/cfbook.
