January 16, 2006 Partial Closing of the Jefferson Building: Jan. 18
A special event will close the Jefferson Building's Great Hall, public exhibition space and the Sales Shop from 12:30 to 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18. With exception for people with disabilities, the west front carriage entrance also will be closed to the public and staff during those hours. Jefferson Building reading rooms and the Coolidge Auditorium (in which a Lomax symposium concert will be held at noon) are accessible via tunnels from the Madison and Adams buildings and will remain open. Public tours will be offered at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. and at 3:30 p.m.
The American Treasures gallery talk will take place from 12 to 12:30 p.m. as scheduled.
