November 13, 2007 Change in Access to AMED Reading Room

Contact: Visitor Services Office (202) 707-0910

From Monday, Nov. 19, through Thursday, Dec. 13, the Northwest Gallery and Pavilion on the second floor of the Thomas Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress will be closed. Those who wish to go to the African and Middle Eastern Reading Room, LJ 220, will need to enter from the back of the building, through LJ 230, instead of traversing the Northwest Gallery and Pavilion as usual. Take the elevators in the rear of the Jefferson Building as if proceeding to the Rare Book Room on the second floor and turn right to go through LJ 230, on the Northeast side of the building. Turn left at the Pavilion to reach the African and Middle Eastern Reading Room. Signs will be placed to help redirect staff, researchers and visitors during this period. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.
