April 21, 2009 Jefferson Building Hours Restrictions April 22-23

The Great Hall, the Library of Congress Experience exhibitions and the Library Shop in the Thomas Jefferson Building will be closed to the general public from 6 to 11 a.m. on Wed., April 22 and from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thu., April 23. Additionally, the West Main and West Basement doors, as well as the Capitol Visitors Center (CVC) tunnel entry way will be closed to the general public and researchers during these restricted hours. The Southeast doors will be available for persons with disabilities.
All public tours on Thu., April 23 have been canceled. Only previously reserved groups and tours will be able to enter the Jefferson Building, via the West Basement/Carriage Entrance, until 10:30 a.m.
Jefferson Building reading rooms will be open normal hours of service. Researchers with credentials may access these reading rooms via the Second Street SE entrances/exits as well as the Adams and Madison building tunnels. Reading rooms and exhibitions in the Madison and Adams Buildings will be open as usual with normal hours of service.
Normal operational hours and entrances/exits of the Great Hall and exhibitions in the Jefferson Building will resume on Wed., April 22 at 11 a.m. and on Thu., April 23 at 3 p.m.
