The following is the holiday operational schedule, including closures, for the public for the Library of Congress through January 2010.

Thursday, December 24, 2009 (Christmas Eve)
All Library buildings and services, including reading rooms and exhibitions, will close to the public at 1 p.m., pursuant to the President's executive order.

Friday, December 25, 2009 (Christmas Day)
All Library buildings and services, including reading rooms and exhibitions, will be closed to the public.

Saturday, December 26, 2009
All Library reading rooms, services, exhibitions and offices will be open and operating under the regular Saturday schedule.

Thursday, December 31, 2009 (New Year’s Eve)
All Library buildings and services, including reading rooms and exhibitions, will close to the public at 5 p.m.

Friday, January 1, 2010 (New Year’s Day)
All Library buildings and services, including reading rooms and exhibitions, will be closed to the public.

Saturday, January 2, 2010
All Library of Congress reading rooms, public spaces and offices will be open and operating under the regular Saturday schedule.

Monday, January 18, 2010 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
The Thomas Jefferson Building's Great Hall and exhibitions will be open to the public from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Visitors may enter through the Thomas Jefferson Building's West Main Entrance. All other Library buildings, services and offices, and reading rooms will be closed to the public in observance of the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr.
