November 10, 2010 (REVISED November 18, 2010) Special Operations Constraints in November
Web Site Down Nov. 19-20
Patrons are advised of operational constraints at the Library in November:
- Doors: On Saturday, November 20, the Independence Avenue entrance to the James Madison Memorial Building will be closed due to repairs. Patrons are advised to use the C Street entrance (nearest to Metro) on Nov. 20.
- Web, Catalog and Networks: Beginning at 5 p.m. ET on Friday, November 19, there will be no access to the Internet, the Library’s online catalog, or to the Library’s online information resources due to a necessary system upgrade. This outage will remain in effect until late in the day on Saturday, November 20. If unforeseen problems are encountered, the system may remain offline through Sunday, November 21. Onsite at the Library, all reading rooms will be open as scheduled. However, there will be no access to the Internet, or to the Library’s online catalog, electronic information resources, or WiFi service. Reference service, card catalog (prior to 1980) and book retrieval will be available. Patrons using the reading rooms that day should search the online catalog (catalog.loc.gov) prior to 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 19.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.
