January 26, 2011 Library of Congress Closes at 3:30 p.m. Today
The Library of Congress will close reading rooms and public spaces, including exhibits, at 3:30 p.m., today, Wednesday, Jan. 26, in accordance with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management’s directive that closes the federal government two hours early today because of weather conditions. As the 112th U.S. Congress is in session, the La Follette Congressional Reading Room will be open, and the Law Library Reading Room will be open pursuant to 2 U.S.C. 138. Library of Congress employees who reported to work will be dismissed two hours earlier than their normal departure time. The two-hour early dismissal does not apply to emergency employees or to employees who are teleworking. Today’s 3:30 p.m. public tour of the Thomas Jefferson Building has been canceled.
