The following is the holiday operation schedule, including building closures, for the Library of Congress for December 2012 and January 2013:

Monday, December 24 (Christmas Eve)
All Library buildings and services, including reading rooms and exhibitions, will be CLOSED to the public. The President has issued an Executive Order excusing Executive Branch departments from duty on that day.

Tuesday, December 25 (Christmas Day, Federal Holiday)
All Library buildings and services, including reading rooms and exhibitions, will be CLOSED to the public.

Monday, December 31 (New Year’s Eve)
All Library buildings -- including reading rooms, the Great Hall, exhibitions and other public areas that are normally open -- will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tuesday, January 1, 2013 (New Year’s Day, Federal Holiday)
All Library buildings and services, including Reading Rooms and exhibitions, will be CLOSED to the public.

Monday, January 21, 2013 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day & Inauguration Day, Federal Holiday)
All Library buildings and services, including Reading Rooms and exhibitions, will be CLOSED to the public.

The Library will have normal hours of operation on Wednesday, December 26 through Saturday, December 30. Normal hours of operation will resume on Wednesday, January 2, 2013.
