June 5, 2014 Jefferson Building to Close Early on June 24

On Tuesday, June 24, the Great Hall, all exhibitions and the Library Shop in the Thomas Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress will close at 4 p.m. for a special event.
All Reading Rooms will remain open for regular service hours. Researchers with Library issued credentials may access the Jefferson Building reading rooms. All other visitors must vacate the building at 4 p.m. The last public tour will begin at 2:30 p.m.
The West Main doors and the Capitol Visitor Center tunnel will be closed to the general public, staff and researchers. The West Basement (Carriage) entrance/exit will only be available to Members of Congress and event guests and event staff.
Entry for researchers and staff will be via the Southeast (2nd Street) entrance as well as via tunnels from the Adams and Madison buildings of the Library. All other reading rooms and exhibitions in the Madison and Adams buildings will be open as usual with normal hours of service. Building exit will be through the Northeast/2nd Street door. In the event of an emergency, all building exits will be available for use.
Normal access to the Great Hall, exhibitions and all other sections of the Jefferson building will resume at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25.
