August 31, 2016 Jefferson Building To Close September 14

On Wednesday, September 14, the Library of Congress Thomas Jefferson Building on the Capitol Hill campus will be closed to the public due to a special event.

Researchers with Library issued credentials may access reading rooms located in the Thomas Jefferson Building starting at 2 p.m. Access to all reading rooms is via the Second Street SE (handicapped accessible) entrance of the Thomas Jefferson Building ONLY. Researchers will also use the Second Street cloakroom only. Access to reading rooms within the James Madison Memorial Building and John Adams Building will not be affected.

Researchers will use the Second Street NE door to exit the Thomas Jefferson Building. All building exits will be available for use in the event of an emergency.

Normal access to all Library buildings will resume at regular hours on Thursday, September 15.

Public access to the Madison and Adams buildings and to the Packard Campus in Culpeper, Virginia, will not be affected.
