January 11, 2017 Special Federal Holiday and Inauguration Week Schedule

The following is the operation schedule, including building closures for the Library of Congress during the 2017 U.S. Presidential Inauguration Week (January 16-21).
Monday, January 16 - (Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Federal Holiday). The Jefferson Building’s Great Hall and exhibitions will be open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All reading rooms, the John Adams Building and the James Madison Memorial Building will be CLOSED.
Tuesday, January 17 – The Library will operate under normal operating hours.
Wednesday, January 18 - Due to special inaugural events, the Thomas Jefferson Building will be CLOSED to the public.
Researchers with Library-issued credentials may access the Jefferson Building reading rooms from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. After 3 p.m., researchers will be served in the Madison or Adams building reading rooms until closing. Entry is via the Southeast (2nd Street) entrance as well as via tunnels from the Adams and Madison buildings of the Library.
The James Madison Memorial Building, the John Adams Building and reading rooms within those buildings will be open to visitors and researchers under normal operations.
All building exits will be available for use in the event of an emergency.
Thursday, January 19 – Saturday January 21: Due to special inaugural events (including Inauguration Day – January 20) and other activities, all Library of Congress buildings will be CLOSED to the public.
Normal access to all Library buildings will resume at regular hours on Monday, January 23.
