January 24, 2023 Jefferson Building Access Changes, Jan. 26

On Thursday, Jan. 26, the Thomas Jefferson Building will close to the public at 3 p.m. to prepare for a special event. This will affect the Great Hall, all exhibitions and the Library Shop.

Researchers may access Jefferson Building reading rooms until 5 p.m. The Main Reading Room, usually open until 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, will close early, at 6 p.m. The West Basement (Carriage) entrance will remain open to staff and researchers only. Reading rooms in the Madison and Adams buildings will not be affected.

All building exits will be available for use in the event of an emergency. Normal access to the Great Hall, Main Reading Room, exhibitions and all other affected of the Jefferson building will resume at regular hours on Friday, Jan. 27.
