On Tuesday, March 19, a special event in the Great Hall will reduce access in the Thomas Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress.
- 2 p.m. – last entry for visitors with timed-entry or walk-up passes
- 5 p.m. - all Jefferson Building reading rooms will close and researchers must exit
Researchers may access the Jefferson Building reading rooms via the Jefferson Building West Basement (Carriage) doors, or the Independence Avenue door to the Madison Building and then via tunnel to the Jefferson Building. All building exits will be available for use in the event of an emergency.
There is no impact to the Madison or Adams Buildings.
The Capitol Visitor Center tunnel to the Library will be closed to staff, researchers and the general public at 3:30 p.m.
Normal access to the Jefferson Building will resume at regular hours on Wednesday, March 20.
