On Wednesday, July 24, due to a joint session of Congress at the United States Capitol, all Library of Congress buildings on Capitol Hill will be closed to public visitors. No timed-entry passes will be offered for the day.
Reading rooms will be open for registered researchers. To access the Thomas Jefferson Building researchers must enter through the C Street entrance of the James Madison Memorial Building or the 2nd street entrance of the John Adams Building, then access the Jefferson building via tunnels.
The Independence Avenue entrance of the Madison Building will be accessible to badged staff ONLY.
Normal access to the Jefferson Building and use of timed-entry tickets will resume at regular hours on Thursday, July 25.
