Because of security requirements related to events connected with the NATO summit, all facilities in the Thomas Jefferson Building will close at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 23. This includes the Visitors Center, the Great Hall, the "American Treasures" exhibition, and all of the reading rooms in that building: the Main Reading Room; the African and Middle Eastern, Asian, European, and Hispanic reading rooms; and the Folklife, Local History and Genealogy, Microform and Rare Book reading rooms. The Children's Literature Center will also be closed.
Reading rooms and offices in the John Adams and James Madison buildings will remain open for their regular hours on April 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Juilliard String Quartet concert that was originally scheduled for 8 p.m. on April 23 will be held at the same time in the Coolidge Auditorium on Wednesday, April 21.
All three Library of Congress buildings will resume their usual hours of operation on Saturday, April 24.
