Notes

  • -  The following information was supplied by the quiltmaker:
  • -  Quilt size: 84" x 102"
  • -  If your quilt is based on a traditional pattern or an earlier quilt, what is the name of the pattern? Where did you learn the pattern? "Not based on any traditional pattern. I was looking at photo albums of 3 family vacations and thought I could use cloth to duplicate the photos."
  • -  How did you choose the materials used in your quilt? "I began with using what I had on hand, then added as I went along as all my blocks are all different."
  • -  What was your primary reason for entering the Lands' End contest? Do you frequently enter your quilts in competition? "At my sister's suggestion."
  • -  How long have you been making quilts? "Approximately 15 years." / How did you learn to quilt? "Reading, asking questions, by doing (learning by my own mistakes). I prefer not to quilt, but enjoy applique."
  • -  Has being a winner in the Land's End contest made a difference in your life? Has it changed the way you look at your work as a quilt maker? "My quilt has been shown in some quilt shows and it's fun to hear someone say 'I've been there!'"
