Notes

  • -  The following information was supplied by the quiltmaker:
  • -  Quilt size: 95" x 85"
  • -  If your quilt is based on a traditional pattern or an earlier quilt, what is the name of the pattern? "This is my original design; 'Summer Glory' is second in a 4-quilt series featuring the four seasons."
  • -  Other techniques used include: "Predominantly floral applique, with pieced borders."
  • -  How did you choose the materials used in your quilt? "Printed, often shaded, fabrics that realistically portrayed the flowers, leaves, etc. of the design."
  • -  What was your primary reason for entering the Lands' End contest? Do you frequently enter your quilts in competition? "To share my quilt with the public. I often enter my quilts in competitive shows --several have been featured in magazines and books."
  • -  How long have you been making quilts? How did you learn to quilt? "Approx. 25 years. Self-taught at first --have since taken workshops and subscribe to numerous quilt magazines, and have lots of books on quiltmaking."
  • -  Has being a winner in the Land's End contest made a difference in your life? Has it changed the way you look at your work as a quilt maker? "Not per se --this was one of many contests I have entered and will probably continue to do so."
