- - Dawn Sturdevant Baum is an enrolled member of the Mole Lake (Sokaogon) Chippewa Tribe of Wisconsin and a descendant of the Menominee Tribe. She earned a bachelor's degree in religious studies from Beloit College and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin. In 2005, she completed a Master in Laws (LL M.) degree in American Indian and Indigenous Law from the University of Tulsa. She joined NARF in November 2006. Baum's Indian law experience includes clerkships with the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin law office and the Navajo Nation Supreme Court. She also held the position of clinical instructor for the University of Tulsas Boesche Legal Clinic. She is admitted to practice law in Wisconsin, New Mexico, the District of Columbia, the Muscogee (Creek) Nation tribal courts and the Navajo Nation tribal courts (inactive). Baum sits on the board of the Native American Bar Association of D.C. and is a co-editor for the Federal Bar Association's Indian Law Section Newsletter.
