- - James McGrath Morris spent five years working on his latest work, "Pulitzer: A Life in Politics, Print and Power" (HarperCollins). His previous book, "The Rose Man of Sing Sing: A True Tale of Life, Murder and Redemption in the Age of Yellow Journalism," was selected as a Washington Post Best Book of the Year for 2004 and was optioned as a film and released as an audio book. Morris is also the author of "Jailhouse Journalism: The Fourth Estate Behind Bars," which told the story of the extraordinary inmates in American prisons who published their own newspapers. Aside from books, his writing has appeared in numerous newspapers and magazines, including The Washington Post, The New York Observer, The Progressive, Civilization and The Wilson Quarterly. He is also the editor of the monthly Biographer's Craft and one of the founding members of the Biographers International Organization. Morris lives in New Mexico.
