- - Stacy Schiff is the author of "Vera," which won the 2000 Pulitzer Prize for biography, and "Saint-Exupéry: A Biography," which was a finalist for the 1995 Pulitzer Prize. Schiff's "A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France and the Birth of America" won the 2006 George Washington Book Prize, the Ambassador Award in American Studies and the Institut Français's Gilbert Chinard Prize. She was a Director's Fellow at the Center for Scholars and Writers at the New York Public Library. Schiff was awarded a 2006 Academy Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. She is also a guest columnist for The New York Times. Her latest book is "The Witches: Salem, 1692." Schiff resides in New York and Alberta, Canada.
