-  Monica Hesse is the national best-selling author of the true crime love story "American Fire" and the Edgar Award-winning young-adult historical mystery novel "Girl in the Blue Coat," which has been translated into a dozen languages and was short-listed for the American Booksellers Association's Indies Choice Award. She is a feature writer for The Washington Post, where she has covered royal weddings, dog shows, political campaigns, Academy Award ceremonies, White House state dinners and some events that felt like a mixture of all of the above. She has talked about these stories, and other things, on NBC, MSNBC, CNN, CSPAN, FOX and NPR, and she has been a winner of the Society for Feature Journalism's Narrative Storytelling award, and a finalist for a Livingston Award and a James Beard Award. Hesse latest book is "The War Outside."
-  Jarrett J. Krosoczka is a New York Times best-selling author, a National Book Award Finalist, a two-time winner of the Children's Choice Book Award for the Third to Fourth Grade Book of the Year, an Eisner award nominee and the author and/or illustrator of more than 30 books for young readers. His work includes several picture books, select volumes of "Star Wars: Jedi Academy" the "Lunch Lady" graphic novels, the "Platypus Police Squad" novel series and the young-adult graphic memoir "Hey, Kiddo." Krosoczka has delivered two TED Talks that have together accrued more than 2 million views online. He is also the host of "The Book Report with JJK" on SiriusXM's "Kids Place Live," a weekly segment celebrating books, authors and reading.
