Title
- Children's Africana Book Award
Summary
- Author Atinuke and illustrator Angela Brooksbank present their award-winning book, "When Baby Goes to Market." This children's picture book depicts an adorable baby who charms the market sellers and confounds her mama. Rhythmic language, visual humor, and a bounty of delectable food make this story that engages young children in the food and culture of the African village. The book received The Children's African Book Award (CABA) for 2018. The Awards are presented annually to the authors and illustrators of the best children's and young adult books on Africa published or republished in the U.S. The awards were created by Africa Access, and the Outreach Council of the Africana Studies Association (ASA) to encourage the publication and use of accurate, balanced children's materials about Africa.
