In a "Books & Beyond" program on Feb. 9, the Center for the Book heralded
the publication of African-American Newspapers and Periodicals: A National Bibliography (Harvard University Press, 1998). Editor James P. Danky of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin (left) holds the 740-page volume. He is joined by William Ferris, chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities, which provided most of the funding, and Maurvene Williams and John Cole of the Center for the Book.
