Hi there! I’m Paige O’Malley. I’m a professional puppeteer and live theater practitioner who has performed in over twenty-seven states in the US. Of every national tour I’ve done, playing the title role in Swazzle’s puppet production of The Little Prince was my most cherished experience.
I graduated from NYU with an undergrad degree in creative arts therapies and spanish language. I’ve lived and performed in several major cities, including Philadelphia, New York, and Los Angeles. I now reside in the DMV area, where I’ve made a cozy home with my chosen family and all of our pets.
I’m currently a company member of the DC theater troupe We Happy Few (WHF). We produce audio plays and live stage productions of reimagined classics with a feminist sensibility. Some of the WHF productions I’ve starred in include Frankenstein, Treasure Island, and multiple audio adaptations of Sherlock Holmes mysteries and Poe compilations. My most memorable WHF role thus far has been playing the title character in Paula Vogel’s Desdemona: A Play about a Handkerchief.
I’ve been building my catalog of recorded works for NLS ever since joining the Media Lab as an audiobook narrator in 2016. I’ve voiced some great contemporary fantasy and sci-fi titles including An Unkindness of Magicians (DB86116) by Kat Howard, The Starlit Wood: New Fairy Tales (DB86514) edited by Parisien and Wolfe, and The Motion of Puppets (DB86116) by Keith Donahue. I’m a big fan of the humorist Tom Robbins, and by request I was able to record his Still Life with Woodpecker (DB87438) and Another Roadside Attraction (DB87800). I’ve also had the pleasure of recording works by some outstanding female authors like Rita Mae Brown (Rubyfruit Jungle [DB88515]) and Anaïs Nin (A Spy in the House of Love [DB90364]).
I hope you find my work in the catalog enjoyable! If you have specific titles you’d like to hear in my voice, please don’t hesitate to contact the library with your requests.
