NLS patrons who have registered for the Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD) service may download digital talking books. These books can be transferred to any USB cartridge and played in the NLS Digital Talking-Book Machine (DTBM) using the side port, or, if patrons wish, they can purchase NLS-style cartridges and extension cables from third-party sources.
